In Madagascar, twins are seen as harbingers of doom and are often separated, adopted out or simply left to die. But some locals along with the international community are trying to change this belief. Floods and poverty are just two things blamed on twins in the town of Mananjary. The Mayor explains the belief that twins are evil, twins are misfortune. With parents trying to avoid responsibility for such adversities, many twins are abandoned. But the Fanantene Centre is raising 13 pairs of twins, hoping to prove people wrong. We keep them in the community to show that you will be more successful if you keep your twins rather than putting them up for adoption. Produced by SBS, distributed by Journeyman pictures
