    Also referred to Raqs sharqi‎, literally: "oriental dancing is an Arab expressive dance which originated in Egypt and that emphasizes complex movements of the torso.[ It has evolved to take many different forms depending on the country and region, both in costume and dance style.
    8 Mapouka
    This is a traditional dance from the Dabou area of southeast Côte d'Ivoire that originated with the Aizi, Alladian and Avikam people. The dance is mostly performed by women, shaking their rear end side to side, facing away from their audience, often while bent over. The worldwide popular twerking dance has been attributed to the Mapouka dance via popular media, while some argue the historically correct origin remains the bump.
    7 Coupé-Décalé
    This is a type of popular dance originating from Côte d'Ivoire and the Ivorian diaspora in Paris, France. Drawing heavily from Zouglou and Zouk with African influences, Coupé-Décalé is a very percussive style featuring African samples, deep bass, and repetitive minimalist arrangements.
    6 Funana
    unaná is a couple dance, with the partners embracing each other with an arm while with the other arm they hold on the hands together. The dance is made through alternated quick and strong inflexions of each knee, marking the beats of the rhythm. In the more rural way of dancing, the bodies are slightly inclined to the front (having shoulder contact), and the feet lift off the ground. In the more urban way of dancing, more stylized, the bodies are more vertical (having chest contact), and the feet drag on the ground.
    Chakacha is a traditional music and dance style of the Swahili people of coastal Kenya and Tanzania, it is originally associated with weddings and performed and watched by women.
    4 Taracha
    This is danced is slower and counter-matching the beat, unlike Kizomba, where every single beat 1-8 is translated as a step. Typical Tarraxinha movement accents on the second beat, sometimes skipping entire 8s.There is little walking progress through the dance, focusing on slick hip movement instead.
    3 Ndombolo/Soukous
    Ndombolo is a Congolese music genre and dance style also popular in other African countries such as Kenya and Madagascar. It is derived from kwassa kwassa.
    2 Kizomba
    This is a genre of dance and a musical genre originating in Angola in late 1970s. Kizomba means "party" in Kimbundu, an Angolan language.

    This is a dance created by Jeannora who was a mechanic in Kinshasa from the Democratic Republic of the Congo that started in the 1980s where the hips move back and forth while the hands move to follow the hips
