Deya Dova recording Birthplace of the Sun, live with the Earth at one of the oldest stone circles in the world. Inzalo Y’langa also known as Adam’s Calendar is estimated to be 75,000 years old and is located close to the epicenter of UVG Grid Point 41, South Africa.
From the 4 year Planetary Grid Music Journey singing and recording with the resonance of living breathing Earth - Gaia - at over 33 locations across the planet.
As a recording artist my creative process is to listen to the Earth and from a place of stillness spontaneously sing in response to the land - in honouring and reverence. The video footage organically follows the live recording of the song as it unfolds in the moment. It is not like a usual music video with set shots, repeated takes and singing to a prerecorded song. It is on the fly, live location recording with ancient Earth. Enjoy!
I am in the full mid day African sun looking out to a land of gold and lost pyramids. Around me great dolomite monoliths stand, hauled in from hundreds of miles away to mark the poignancy of this Earth energy point. I am between the two large marker stones at the centre of the ancient Earth Calendar.
I’ve been listening to the land since dawn and now a strong, feminine energy moves in through the space wanting to be sung. It calls me to the South of the circle, marked by a wild tree splitting a cardinally aligned stone. Like a living embodiment of the Tree of Life, it’s roots crack open the great stone seed.
The song is a celebration, broadcasting the longevity & fertility of the land. I am filled with a joyous and renewing memory. Connecting with the birthplace of Humanity. As I sing I experience the high veld grassland flowering in it’s being sung. Just like a woman the Earth blossoms in her being honoured and adored. The energy of the Mother sings in the Birthplace of the Sun. Here where Heaven mated Earth.
Birthplace of the Sun is the title track from album #10 of the Planetary Grid Music Collection.
